The end of “Cut Out Dissection” Month will be here before you know it, so if you haven’t talked to your school about alternatives to dissection yet, I thought I’d give ya some inspiration! Students all over the country are speaking up for the more than 10 million animals slated to be killed every year for dissection—and you can be the next to speak out! Here are just a few ways that you can help:
5. Take a cute pic to help animals! Snap a photo with your feline best friend and a sign that says, “You Wouldn’t Dissect Her!” (or “Him”), and set it as your profile picture on Facebook!
4. Print out our new “Missing” signs. Tell your friends and classmates about how animals end up on the dissection tray. 3. Want to know if your state has a dissection-choice policy? Click here, or text your state’s two-letter abbreviation (for example, Michigan = MI) to 73822 to find out! (Note: Hawaii residents should text HAWAII, Ohio residents should text OHIO, and Oklahoma residents should text OKLA.) Message and data rates may apply. Text HELP for help or STOP to end. Up to 10 messages/month. Read our full texting T&Cs.
Earlier this month, we sent a text message to our mobile subscribers asking them to text in to find out about their state’s policy, and more than 10,000 people replied! Check out the map below to see where most of the responses came from—neat, huh?
2. If you live in a state that has a dissection-choice policy, there is more that you can do! Remember: The more students who choose not to dissect, the less likely it is that the school will even bother purchasing dead animals in the future. Share our leaflets and info with friends, and make sure that they say “No!” to dissection too!
How’s “Cut Out Dissection” Month going for you so far?
