Victory! The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Drops Vegan Milk Upcharge

Brew-tiful victory for cows, their calves, and kind coffee drinkers: After hearing from PETA, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf will no longer charge extra for vegan milk, starting June 3, 2026! 🥳🕺

Why is this a huge deal? Cows love one another deeply and mourn when they’re separated from their friends or family—so the dairy industry is their living hell. In this industry, cows are forcibly impregnated over and over, and their calves are taken away from them within a day of birth. Some mother cows wail for their stolen calves for days and have been known to break through fences and travel for miles looking for their babies.

The dairy industry is also a major producer of greenhouse gases, and consuming dairy can lead to all kinds of health issues. We shouldn’t be punished for keeping cruelty out of our cups, caring about the environment, or protecting our health—and companies are listening.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf joins a rapidly growing list of coffee chains—including Starbucks, Dunkin’, Peet’s Coffee, Scooter’s Coffee, Tim Hortons, Caribou Coffee, and Dutch Bros—that have dropped the unfair upcharge following pressure from PETA. In thanks, PETA is sending The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf delicious cow-shaped vegan chocolates.

BIGGBY is the last big chain in the US with a vegan milk upcharge. Please urge the company to join the rest of the industry and drop the extra fee!
