The world was outraged when it learned of the tragic death of Cecil the lion. It was reported that Walter Palmer, the Minnesota dentist who killed Cecil, and his guides had lured him out of a protected park with food so they could shoot him on private property, because shooting him while in the park would have been illegal. Palmer reportedly first injured Cecil by shooting him with an arrow and had to track the suffering lion for 40 HOURS before killing him with a gun. Cecil was then reportedly skinned and beheaded.

This is Walter Palmer smiling and posing with the corpse of another lion that he killed with what appears to be a crossbow, which is upsetting and disgusting to anyone capable of feeling compassion.

Hunting is not a sport, and the heads and other body parts of animals are not trophies!

What You Can Do

Don’t let this happen to another lion. Click on the tweet below to urge the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to put lions on its “threatened animals” list and stop all hunting “trophy” imports into the U.S.
