Dead To Me on Vegetarian Politics
Dead To Me hail from San Francisco, a place one might call a bastion of progressive thinking. Because the band’s lyrics cover politics and personal issues such as overcoming adversity, we were beyond excited to meet up with Dead To Me frontman Chicken to chat about vegetarianism and everything else that he believes in.
Chicken has been championing a vegetarian diet and sticking up for animals for quite some time. He knows that a vegan lifestyle is the best way to save the environment, and he straight up feels best when he abstains from consuming animal products. “The best direct action one can take is just having a vegan lifestyle,” Chicken told us.
A vegan diet is the best way to make an impact and stand up for what’s right—including saving the environment and reducing your environmental footprint. Seventy percent of the leveled Amazon rain forest is used to raise animals for meat consumption. Even more intense, according to the United Nations, raising animals for food is ‘one of the top two or three most significant contributors to the most serious environmental problems, at every scale from local to global.’ A simple way to help the rain forests and the environment is to go vegetarian for a week. After that, once you’re feeling stronger and healthier, try going vegan for a week! Take the pledge now!
