OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder is a huge animal lover who wants his fans to know that ending the dog and cat overpopulation crisis is as easy as ABC—animal birth control. In fact, the Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter feels so strongly about helping homeless animals that he was more than happy to take time out of his jam-packed schedule to star in an ABC public service announcement (PSA) for peta2 to help spread the word.

Seated at the piano, Ryan explains exactly why he got involved in this campaign. “I was shocked to find out that 6 to 8 million dogs and cats are dumped at crowded animal shelters each year, and half of them must be euthanized because there aren’t enough good homes. The solution is as easy as animal birth control.”

Staggering numbers, aren’t they? And that’s just in the U.S. alone! Every year, severely crowded animal shelters are filled with wonderful, loving, healthy animals who will lose their lives because there aren’t enough homes for them.

The solution is simple and starts at home—always spay and neuter your animal companions and never buy an animal from a pet store or a breeder, a concept that Ryan definitely understands.

Please join Ryan by pledging to help end animal homelessness today!
