Did you know that UGG boots are made from the skin of terrified, abused sheep? That’s right, they’re made out of SKIN.
In the wool and meat industries, before sheep are slaughtered for their skin or flesh, they’re often forced to live miserable lives in crowded pens. Typically, lambs’ ears are hole-punched, their tails are chopped off, and the males’ testicles are cut off or torn out—all usually without anesthetics or pain relief.
More and more people are learning the truth about wool and sheepskin products. In fact, UGG’s parent company, Deckers Brands, reported a nearly 10 percent sales decline in the U.S., leading its stock shares to crash by a staggering 23.8 percent.
But our work isn’t done! To make sure that everyone knows how sheep suffer for clothing and meat, we’ve posted a series of videos featuring footage from the international wool industry. The videos have already received over 51 million views on Facebook and Instagram.
Help us spread the word that every purchase of UGG boots or other wool or sheepskin products supports extreme cruelty to animals. There are tons of UGG alternatives people can buy instead.
