Terrified Baby Animals Chased by Little Kids?!

This achievement is no longer active. Please check out the Take Action page for more activities to help animals.

baby rabbitThis Sunday, the Laton Lions Club has reportedly scheduled a “Barnyard Scramble” event, during which terrified baby bunnies, piglets, calves, lambs, and chicks will be released into an arena and frantically chased by children.

These frightened baby animals will have no opportunity to escape or defend themselves. To make matters worse, the animals used in the event will be sent home as prizes.

Of the countless animals who are “won” every year in such events, many die within weeks from neglect or are bounced around from home to home because families are usually unprepared for the huge responsibility of taking care of their “prizes.”

Contact the Laton Lions Club and urge the organization to cancel this cruel event! Submit a copy of your e-mail for 350 Street Team points.

How could the animals even develop a decent relationship with these monsters after they have been chased around and damn near frightened to death… I will be e-mailing them ASAP.

hello. I was informed of the “barnyard scramble.” by peta. I think this is wrong is so many ways. Most animals in these “barnyard scrambles” are given away as prizes. they are not prizes and should not be treated as such. the animals get very stressed out from being chased around by small children. each animal has special needs and care that these people obviously do not know about if they think going to this event is ok. please try an easter egg hunt instead. it can be just as fun, and much more humane!

    That’s what I emailed them.
