SeaWorld Won't Like What This University Just Did
Student members of Cease Animal Torture at California State University–Long Beach (CSULB), accompanied by peta2 staff members and four “orcas,” gathered together outside the campus bookstore to demand that the school stop promoting SeaWorld by selling discounted tickets to the theme park.
But something wonderful happened …
and the planned demonstration soon became a celebration…
The CSULB administration announced that it would no longer support animal abuse and would cut the school’s ties with SeaWorld!
As shown in the hit documentary Blackfish, SeaWorld takes naturally far-ranging predators, locks them in tiny concrete tanks, and forces them to perform circus-style tricks.
At least 37 orcas and dozens of dolphins have died at SeaWorld and affiliated facilities from ailments such as severe trauma, intestinal gangrene, and chronic cardiovascular failure.
Thank you, CSULB!
