Saving Seals on the Road With Alesana
Greetings from the cold North! The peta2 Road Warriors have been on tour for the past week with Alesana, urging concert-goers to speak out against the ever-cruel Canadian Seal Hunt. With the Olympics currently drawing the world’s attention to Canada, and with the annual seal slaughter set to begin on the east coast of Canada in March, now is the prime time to tell Canada’s government to halt the heinous activities that cause the deaths of an estimated 300,000 baby harp seals each year.
Of course, a most important part of being a peta2 Road Warrior is eating right. We don’t let constant traveling hold us back from eating healthy vegan food. In fact, eating healthy is part of our mission to save animals. While in the vegan food mecca of New York City last week, we stopped to devour an incredibly tasty and healthy meal at Angelica Kitchen, one of Manhattan’s longest running vegan establishments. We feasted on marinated tofu steaks with miso dip, sweet potatoes, kale and seaweed salad, and then we topped it off with a blueberry glazed banana bread pudding for dessert.
We left Angelica Kitchen feeling like a million bucks, ready to save some seals! Tell us, what’s your favorite healthy vegan dish?
