This Week at peta2!
Alright! Time for “This Week at peta2” where we give you the lowdown on all of the exciting (and super cute!) things happening at the PETA office and in the peta2 department—and of course, my blog will be filled with animals and food, whudathunk it?!
I oversee PETA’s Issues Trainings for new staffers—a weekly training to go over all of the campaigns and issues PETA works on. This week, while I was setting up the meeting in our Joaquin Phoenix conference room, I had two visitors—Olaf (who is doing well as a PETA office kitty!) and Romeo. They love meetings!
This week was an exciting one because Joey is visiting from Los Angeles! You recognize him, right??! To celebrate, we headed to the local Cali-style Mexican place to have a taco-eating contest. Who do you think won?
Uh … did I mention that this place serves burritos, tacos, nachos, and salads with vegan steak, vegan fish, and vegan chicken along with vegan sour cream and cheese?! Yep, they do! Check out my vegan steak and vegan fish tacos, and Christina’s vegan steak nachos. Deeeeelish.
This week just kept getting better, and on Wednesday a field worker in PETA’s Community Animal Project picked up this little guy who had been found wandering around a rural road in North Carolina by a good Samaritan. He’s hanging out safely in our quarantine room while we treat him for ticks and I’ve been giving him regular walks and lovin’ throughout the week! We named him Mr. Roper! ?
Yesterday, we got a lovely surprise from My Vegan Sweet Tooth—a local vegan in-house bakery. They brought some flavors (Pina Colada, Strawberry, and Pink Lemonade) for us to test. YUM! One of the many perks of working at PETA. 🙂 Beautiful, right?
