Survive Thanksgiving With peta2's Checklist

Ahhh, Thanksgiving—the weird holiday when people give thanks by eating a dead bird. WTF?!

thanksgiving turkey tombstones

Each year, 45 million turkeys are killed just for Thanksgiving—and they often suffer before they die. Some turkeys have been kicked, have had their heads stomped on, and even have had their heads held underwater—all while they were still alive.

Thankfully, vegans DON’T have to support this disgusting cruelty and can still enjoy a delish Thanksvegan with the help of peta2’s Thanksgiving Pack!

It comes fully stocked with recipes, tips on replacing common ingredients with vegan versions, and even a Q&A section to help convince your parents to serve some food that you can actually eat! Yay!

i really want to make the turkey recipe from the mama kills animals game but it is such a large recipe and i would need to do alot of math to make a 6th of a recipe, but last thanks giving i was super annoyed since my mom went to grab the salt in the pantry and our dog jumped up and ate a chunk of the turkey so she freaked and had to go to the store and bout another, and worse, the second one she got was butterball quick cook, i love my dog, it wasn’t her fault, if my dog got my fake turkey i would just cut off the area she got, because yes, its a little gross, but she cant poison it and the “germs” cant spread that fast if there is any

I feel kind of left out. I work at trader joes. Their tofurkeys r not gf. Oh well I’ll just buy some vegetarian chili, sweet potatoes, a white potato for my dad, canned corn, frozen green beans. I hope that helps me and my family.

I have never eaten Tofurkey on Thanksgiving and I promise, my holiday is just as good as anyone else’s. You don’t need turkey, fake or cruelty-full, to have a great holiday!

Quick question: Last year I purchased the Tofurky Roast, just the regular one without anything in it and I didn’t like it at all. I didn’t want my family to try it because I didn’t want them to judge vegan/vegetarian food on that alone. Just recently I got my mother AND my stepfather to go vegetarian and I want to buy a great tasting tofu turkey… Any brands out there that you guys really love?

I convinced my parents to have a vegan Thanksgiving! They agreed on the condition that I do all the cooking. Does anyone have suggestions or recipes?

Most of the time I don’t have issues with not eating meat because my mother is a vegetarian too. However, the big holidays with the whole family is another story. My mother and I presented the idea and we lost, but my mother informed the family that next year Thanksgiving is at our house! I know what we are having!!!!

My family would not give up their turkey on Thanksgiving, but thankfully my mom went out and bought me a vegan roast and vegan pumpkin pie.

My whole family is vegetarian/vegan and for thanksgiving we had a tofurkey, vegan green bean casserole (thanks for the recipe!), vegan stuffing, and vegan mashed potatoes! It was absolutely delicious! My extended family tasted our food and they were surprised at how good it was and how much it tasted like what they think of as “normal” food! 😀
