One-Minute Mission: That's Not Your Skin!

It’s time to be honest: Leather is not edgy, fashionable, or cool—it’s gross, creepy, and cruel. I mean c’mon, it’s the skin of someone else!

Cow skinned alive leather

Leather can be made from cows, pigs, goats, and sometimes even dogs and cats!

DO SOMETHING

Most of the leather in the U.S. comes from India, where cows are marched hundreds of miles in the heat without food or water. They have their tails broken and chili peppers and tobacco rubbed into their eyes in order to force them to get back up after they collapse. At the slaughterhouse, their throats are cut and they’re skinned, sometimes while they’re still alive—all in the name of fashion. We agree: This is fu@#ing sick, and it needs to STOP NOW.

Here’s what you need to do:

1. Share one (or both!) of the photos below on Facebook, and ask your friends to let animals keep their skin! Be sure to include a message similar to the one that we wrote.

I mentioned that the dog in my screenshot, on my facebook pics is my boyfriends dog. And he isn’t XD
They’re so alike but that’s not Caty, my boyfriends boxer, that’s a stray someone found and tagged me to see if I could help him. He got a forever home already but I don’t know what they named him. I’ll ask for pictures thoug, as you can see, he was in pretty bad shape… https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=523187044416464&set=t.100001285024447&type=1&theater

You can take a photo of the screen with a regular camera and upload that instead. :)
