Mission: Could You Live on a Piece of Paper?

Next time you see a carton of eggs at a store, think about this: On most farms, the chickens who laid those eggs were forced to live in a space smaller than a piece of paper. 😰

Chickens are loving mothers who bond with their chicks before they even hatch—they even sing to their chicks when they’re still in the egg. They form friendships, recognize one another, care for their young, and love dust-bathing, making nests, and roosting in trees.

But on factory farms, hens used for their eggs are stacked in tiny “battery cages” and crammed so closely together that these normally clean animals are forced to poop on one another. 🤢 Many die from disease, and survivors are often forced to live with their dead and dying cagemates, who are sometimes left to rot. And don’t let cage-free labels trick you—birds on cage-free farms are still crammed shoulder to shoulder in filthy sheds and sent to slaughter when their egg production slows.

Ready for the good news? The second you stop buying eggs, you stop supporting this cruelty! 👏 Vegan egg replacements absolutely slap and come with none of the cholesterol that chickens’ eggs have.
