How Your Chakras Can Inspire Your Animal Rights Journey

Wanna boost your well-being, balance your body’s energy levels, and reach your greatest animal advocate potential all at once? 🤯 It’s time to unblock your chakras. 🧘

Chakras are energy centers in your body (like your head, throat, and heart). To work best, they need to stay open or balanced. If they get blocked, you may feel physical or emotional discomfort, which can affect your ability to help animals. But don’t sweat it—you can open your chakras with some basic practices. 😅

If you want to learn more about the connections between advocacy and spiritual tools and practices, check out peta2’s “Your Sign to Save Animals” campaign for animal rights horoscopes, oracle cards, palm readings, and more. In the meantime, here’s how to unblock the seven main chakras that run along the length of your spine: the root, the sacral, the solar plexus, the heart, the throat, the third eye, and the crown.

The Root

The root (Muladhara) chakra is at the base of your spine. It gives you a sturdy foundation, helping you feel grounded and capable of dealing with challenges. 💪 If you’re feeling uncertain or you have doubts about your vegan lifestyle, that’s a strong signal that you need to unblock your root chakra.

So how can you do it? 🤔 Having a strong sense of why you’re vegan can help you overcome those doubts. Remember that the reason you choose to be vegan is to do the best you can to help animals and avoid contributing to their suffering. 🥰 Also, being a part of an animal rights community—like a school club, an online group, or an advocate network—will keep you zoned in on your purpose and make you feel more secure.

The Sacral

The sacral (Svadhisthana) chakra is right below your belly button. It gives you creative energy and helps you get in touch with your emotions and the emotions of others. Feeling uninspired or anxious? 😰 That means you should focus on unblocking your sacral chakra through some creative and emotional work.

Try blending your artistic and advocacy skills into an “artivism” project. You could rep animal rights by doing an evocative painting, performing a compassionate spoken word piece, or creating a “dream for animals” board by filling in the prompts from our template. Using your artistic strengths to help animals is hella satisfying and can inspire others to follow your lead.

The Solar Plexus

The solar plexus (Manipura) chakra is in your stomach area. It is responsible for your confidence and self-esteem and can help you feel in control of your life. Having low confidence can make activism tricky, but there are plenty of ways to boost your self-esteem and improve your ability to help others.

To unblock your solar plexus, fuel your body with nutritious foods and sharpen your mind with the knowledge and tools needed to accomplish your goals. 🌱🧠 The more you learn about speciesism and how to dismantle it, the more confident you’ll feel in your activist journey. Eating healthy, tasty vegan food can give you the boost you need to help even more animals. 😋

The Heart

The heart (Anahata) chakra is in the center of your chest. You may have already guessed that this one is all about love. 💕 If it’s blocked, you could find yourself feeling angry or defensive during advocacy activities.

Fwiw, we totally understand getting emotional when others don’t respect animals, but it’s a great practice to open your heart and come with compassion for all at the right time. 🤝 Even if you don’t convince someone to go vegan right off the bat, you can plant a seed by telling them why you’re vegan. When they start to think about making compassionate changes, they’ll remember your reasoning and be more likely to follow through.

The Throat

The throat (Vishuddha) chakra is, of course, in your throat. 💁 It controls your ability to express yourself. When it’s blocked, you may feel shy and unable to speak up during outreach. 🥺👉👈

Here’s the good news: There are legit so many ways to unblock your throat chakra. You can journal your thoughts on animal rights, research public-speaking skills, practice speaking in the mirror, and visualize and affirm what you know to be true. 🗣️💭

The Third Eye

The third eye (Ajna) chakra is in between your eyes. 👀 Think of it as the eye of your soul—it takes in info beyond the surface level. It’s also in charge of intuition and imagination, so if it’s blocked, you may be feeling scattered and unsure of how exactly you can fulfill your activity potential.

To unblock it, get a planner and come up with small goals toward a larger animal rights campaign. 📓 Breaking up a broad campaign into small goals can help you push past the imagination block and get unique ideas for helping animals. To connect to your intuition, practice meditation—regularly setting aside some time to clear your mind and focus on your true self can help you make the most compassionate decisions in your daily life.

The Crown

The crown (Sahasrara) chakra is at the top of your head. It represents your spiritual connection to yourself, to others, and to the universe. 🙏 No matter what advocacy action you take, you’ll be sharpening your connection skills.

If you’re feeling a bit disconnected, remember your ripple effect. We all touch each other’s lives in many ways, and you 100% have an impact. The best way each of us can save animals is by going vegan—so just imagine the mega impact you can make by helping others do the same. 😲 Order 100 copies of our “Guide to Going Vegan” and hand them out within the first 100 days of 2024 to set off a massive ripple effect and earn 75 peta2 points in our Rewards Program. 😊
