Right now, millions of mice, rats, rabbits, primates, dogs, cats, and other animals are locked inside cold barren cages in labs all over the world. They languish in pain, ache with loneliness, and long to roam free and use their minds.
Many people never get the chance to see the suffering that animals in labs endure, but PETA India youth outreach adviser Neha Singh and other volunteers were determined to change that. They took part in a street theater–style graphic demonstration to show how animals are abused and killed in laboratories in India and around the world.
Neha was shackled so that she was unable to move and then “electrocuted.”
She was force-fed “chemicals,” and her head was shaved.
Neha was then shoved inside a tube, “killed,” and finally tossed in a dumpster.
This may look graphic and extreme, but it only represents a fraction of the types of torture animals endure in labs. Watch the full performance for yourself:
