Head to the app store and you’ll find some interesting apps, including “Places I’ve Pooped,” “Drunk Dial NO!” and “S.M.T.H” (aka “Send Me to Heaven,” which calculates how high you can throw your phone in the air). There’s an app for everything these days.

While many utterly bizarre apps are out there, thankfully, there are some useful ones, too—including apps that help you track down the best vegan food and products wherever you happen to be. Here are some of our favorites:

AirVegan

This app tells you which airport terminals have vegan options. And if that doesn’t fly with you, check out our vegan airport guide!

Gonutss

Did you just start your vegan journey? If so, this app is perfect for you. It’ll help you veganize all your favorite foods by providing you with animal-free alternatives and recipes as well as information on products and ingredients. It even has a protein calculator if gains are your thing.

Is It Vegan?

Just scan a food or drink product’s barcode, and voilà! The app will tell you whether or not it’s vegan. This app is so simple that your parents could probably use it without your help.

vanilla bean

Traveling plant-eaters rejoice! This app features an interactive map, making finding nearby vegan food super-easy. It also lets you know about organic and gluten-free options in more than 16,000 restaurants across the U.S. as well as in some other countries.

HappyCow

I’m sure it comes as a surprise to no one that HappyCow makes the list. If you’ve never heard of this wondrous app that helps find vegan-friendly businesses, it’s time to come out from under your rock! Find reviews and filter search results by price, distance, or whether or not a restaurant delivers or is open—and much more. It’s basically a vegan Yelp. You’re welcome.

Vegaholic

For ages 21 and over only. Some alcoholic drinks obviously aren’t vegan, like cocktails made with egg whites or cow’s milk. But you may not know that some brands of beer and wine are filtered with eggs or fish bladders—blech. Use Vegaholic and your next hangover may not be as bad, because you’ll at least know that you didn’t consume any animal parts.

Veganagogo

This app is a lifesaver when you’re traveling to new places where you aren’t well versed in the language. It offers carefully selected statements in over 50 languages that help to communicate vegan dietary restrictions. Praise!

VeganXpress

VeganXpress helps you discover vegan options at your favorite chain restaurants.
